GOEBEL Shows Upgraded Slitter at ICE Europe

DARMSTADT, GERMANY | GOEBEL IMS reports a successful appearance at ICE Europe in Munich, Germany, where the company featured the RAPID D1 slitter/rewinder. The company says the machine has been modernized and features a new machine concept, now allowing for a rewind diameter to 1,000 mm and narrow cuts to 10 mm.

The machine that was shown in Munich also offers an optional main drive in addition to the electric generators. Thus, company says, unwinding and winding pressure can be separated completely and mother rolls of both-sided siliconized paper or composite material, that do not excuse high pressures when unwinding, can be converted to very narrow roll sizes.

The high-precision machine reportedly offers high flexibility with materials and slitting widths, high productivity, and high quality for converting standard material such as coated and uncoated paper and technical paper as for the cable and electric industry.

Sebastian Lange, sales director film at GOEBEL IMS, said the company welcomed a high number of qualified visitors at the ICE Europe booth and noted a large number of in-depth talks. He notes that both with new customers and established contacts, discussions were all on the converting of paper, film, and aluminum foil, for which the manufacturer offers customized solutions with a broad portfolio of slitting and winding machines. “We see a clear increase in our converting projects, especially paper- and film-related ones.”
