Agfa's Graphic Enterprise Taking Prepress Higher at Graph Expo

MORTSEL, BELGIUM—Graph Expo and Converting Expo kicked off Sunday in Chicago's McCormick Place, and among the graphic arts industry suppliers demonstrating newly updated prepress technology is Belgium-based Agfa. The company says, at its booth #4041, it will showcase "new and leading prepress technologies—all part of The Graphic Enterprise. Visitors to the booth will see how they can reach new heights with their Graphic Enterprise, with demos on :Sublima XM screening to the new Elite version of its :Xcalibur 45 thermal platesetter, from the popular 4-up :Palladio platesetter to the new :ApogeeX Phase Two automated workflow," states Agfa.
Among the CTP (computer-to-plate) solutions for flexo printers, Agfa's :Sublima "extends the tonal range, allowing marked improvement in extreme highlights and smooth, larger transitions in vignettes." The mfr. adds, "Flexo printers will be able to see how they can achieve line screens of 150, 170, 190, and 212 lpi without any change in anilox rolls."
In addition to demonstrating its prepress technologies at booth #4041, Agfa says it will also be showing the :Grand Sherpa wide format printing systems at the new Wide Format Pavilion (booths #4062 and #4462). "Visitors there will be able to learn about [Agfa's] dual-purpose proofer-printer systems and [the company's] wide selection of :AgfaJet media.
