Paper Summit 2004: Pulp Paper Industry Leaders Finalize Show Plans

NEW YORK, NY, USA—The leading organizations from all segments of the pulp and paper industry are working together closely to finalize plans for the "most comprehensive and all-inclusive" conference and exposition in North America, states a recent press release announcing Paper Summit 2004.
Joining founding sponsor the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI) and event owner/organizer Paperloop in developing the conference are the American Forest & Paper Association (American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA), Paper Industry Management Association (PIMA), American Paper Machinery Association (APMA), and the Pulp and Paper Safety Association (PPSA). "These leading organizations will develop a variety of insightful conference sessions, ranging from technical seminars to management and operational programs," say event sponsors.
According to Paperloop, more than 300 leading international suppliers will display "all the latest technologies and products" on the show floor. In addition, TAPPI will hold its Technology Summit in conjunction with the conference/expo; PPSA will offer safety training classes and certification programs; and IDCON Inc. once again will hold its Pulp and Paper Reliability & Maintenance conference (PPRM).
Founded in 1962 and formerly known as the "TAPPI Show," the event was changed to a two-year cycle in 2004 to allow companies to introduce new products and technologies on a more timely basis. According to Paperloop, it purchased the Paper Summit exhibition from TAPPI just prior to the 2002 event. Paperloop's Jane McDermott, Paper Summit show director, says "This unprecedented cooperation among all the industry leading associations and publications will allow us to develop a comprehensive event that has value to everyone in the pulp and paper industry."
