AGAWAM, MA, USA—KidderComexi welcomed more than 125 guests to view its FP 1808 Direct Drive gearless press this spring. Held April 23–25, 2002, at KidderComexi in Agawam, MA, the open house demonstrated what the company calls the "first true gearless press on the market, featuring "zero transmission error" technology. According to the manufacturer, two demonstrations were held daily during the event, showing an eight-color job running at 1200 fpm and press operators effecting a complete job changeover in approximately 10 minutes.
KidderComexi says the FP 1808 demonstrated also included a fully automatic Enviroxi wash-up system, dedicated sleeve system for plate and anilox, 40-in. unwind/rewind turrets, and auto registration and print defect detection.
