F&K Expands Packaging Product Range with Kochsiek Buy

FAIRFIELD, NJ, USA—Fischer & Krecke's Fischer Group (comprised of Fischer & Krecke GmbH, Bielefeld, Germany) announces the acquisition of Kochsiek GmbH, Leopoldshöhe, Germany. "[This is] a dramatic move to expand resources to better service the packaging market with an even broader product range," says F&K.

Kochsiek supplies high-grade rotogravure presses, unwinds, rewinds, slitters, in-line flexographic presses as well as other converting equipment like rotary die cutters, delivery systems, and multi-wall bag machinery (tubers, bottomers, reeling machines, etc.). "With this acquisition, some consolidation of products lines will take place," says F&K,"with Fischer & Krecke GmbH assuming production of all flexographic equipment. Additionally, the bag machinery of both companies will be consolidated, providing the industry with a complete line of variable-size SOS bag machines as well as advanced high-production equipment for the multi-wall bag industry."

According to F&K, Kocksiek's acquisition rounds out the company's product lines. With equipment ranging from flexo CI presses and SOS bag machinery to specialty narrow web flexo presses to the newly added Kochsiek equipment expertise, the co. says it "now holds a dominant presence in nearly every niche of the package printing and converting industry, including flexibles, paper, film, foil, laminates, paperboard printing/converting, preprinted linerboard, and specialized bag technology."
