X-Rite Acquires Centurfax Line Reports Positive Q1

GRANDVILLE, MI, USA—X-Rite Inc. reports the acquisition of the ccDot meter product line of Centurfax Ltd., a "successful, London-based company that develops and distributes products serving the prepress and printing industries." According to X-Rite—a supplier of technology solutions that measure color, light, and shape—ccDot meter products consist of quality-control devices that ensure the accurate measurement of film, offset litho plates, and digital proofing solutions.
"This acquisition is a perfect addition to the X-Rite product lines that serve the international print and imaging markets," says Michael Ferrara, X-Rite president. "The ccDot product line has an established customer base and strong reputation for being the best in the industry. Centurfax has done a great job in developing and marketing this innovative technology, and we look forward to offering this product line to our new and existing customers."
X-Rite Q1 Financial Results
X-Rite also recently announced its first quarter results for 2003. According to the co., net sales increased 12.7 percent over the prior year (USD 23.6 million for quarter ending March 29, 2003, compared to $21 million last year) and operating income increased to $1.6 million versus a loss of $0.3 million in the prior year.
