PPC Fall Conference to Feature Consumer Packaged Good Experts

Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) Fall Meeting and Leadership Conference, The High Performance Converter in Turbulent Times, Hilton Head, South Carolina, October 17 - 19 , 2002

ALEXANDRIA, VA, USA—The Paperboard Packaging Council's annual fall meeting this week is slated to feature a panel of consumer packaged-good leaders, reports the industry organization. The three-day meeting, entitled The High-Performance Converter in Turbulent Times, includes experts that represent varied disciplines, including graphic design, engineering, and purchasing, in a variety of markets, such as food, electronic, and health products. This year, says PPC, the panelists will discuss "high performance suppliers in the eyes of trend-setting customers."

Panel participants include: Jay Gouliard, VP of packaging innovation, technology, and quality, General Mills; Jim Scott, director of packaging engineering, Eastman Kodak; and Craig Lozak, global commodity manager, Johnson & Johnson. Robert Heitzman, publisher of Packaging Digest will moderate.

Speakers are challenged to provide responses signifying criteria for the high-performing converter. Questions they will be addressing include:

  • How is performance measured in defining value?

  • How do the best suppliers innovate?

  • What distinguishes the high-performance packaging supplier in partnering and teamwork?

  • What are the important trends resulting from "pull through" demands of retailers?

  • When selecting a supplier, what weight is given to various criteria in "requests for information"?

According to PPC, the Leadership conference is expected to attract over 100 CEOs and key managers from the paperboard packaging industry.
