COBOURG, ON, CANADA—Cascades Boxboard Inc. reports it recently installed a Fischer & Krecke (F&K) nine-station central impression (CI) flexographic press at its Cobourg plant in order "to provide an increased level of outstanding quality and service to its customers." Cascades adds the operation plans start-up of the press this month.
"The new press will double Cobourg's present production capacity and offer customers enhanced quality and speed, particularly for short and medium runs," states Yves Ménard, Cascades VP of folding carton manufacturing.
According to Cascades, the new press will afford the manufacturer improved efficiency, the highest print quality, and consistent color control. Says the company of the F&K press: "It allows greater flexibility, more accurate register, and improved changeover [time capability]. In-line embossing and die-cutting [functionalities] will reduce lead times greatly, and the press is designed to minimize waste," adds Cascades.
