Dennis Paradise joins Extrusion Dies Industries (EDI), Chippewa Falls, WI, as North American sales manager. Alan G. Coulson is appointed manufacturing manager of Extrusion Dies UK Ltd., Whetstone, Leicester, UK.
Lamart Corp., Clifton, NJ, names Bob Kennedy western regional sales rep.
Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. (SSCC), Chicago, IL, discontinues operations at its Anderson, IN, and San Jose, CA, corrugated container plants, and its Temple, TX, and Louisville, KY, sheet plants. Existing business will be transitioned to nearby SSCC facilities.
Converting Machine Technologies, Whittier, CA, launches a business group, Converting Machine Technologies LLC, to provide converting equipment design engineering and integration support for the medical industry. Dr. Kasi Gabbita becomes president of the newly formed group, and Carlos Maciel assumes the position of VP sales and engineering.
Converter Accessory Corp., Wind Gap, PA, celebrates its 30th anniversary in the web processing industry. It was founded in 1974 by Larry Damour and is now in its second generation of Damour family leadership.
Mark Collins is promoted to VP of sales at Orion Packaging Systems, Collierville, TN. R. Carson Howard replaces him as South Central regional sales manager. Orion also reports the death from cancer of eastern Canada regional manager Leo Clement.
Adhesives Research, Glen Rock, PA, names Bonnie Hawkins-Richter national sales manager for the Splicing Business Unit.
Effective February 1, Creo Americas, Billerica, MA, now is reselling Xerox mid-range and entry-level production color digital presses in the US and Canada. The two companies also will cooperate in developing workflow software. Martin Judge, Creo's business manager, Strategic Business Initiatives, is responsible for guiding the success of the recently announced reseller agreement.
