Static Cling Vinyls Are Pliable

Three new static cling vinyls, including white and clear, are made of highly plasticized PVC, reportedly providing both flexibility and pliability. They can adhere to most polished surfaces and be removed, stored, and reused indefinitely. Topcoated to improve shelf life and printability, products can be printed flexo, offset, and screen and are available with either a polycoated layflat or printable liner.

The ELSCAN Micro system is designed for flexible, cost-effective web viewing for label and business form converting, company notes. With its compact size and easy upgradability, unit reportedly offers easy integration and long life cycles. Open-architecture components include a Firewire video card and a small junction box for computer interface. Software controls include travel, focus depth, focus, zoom, adjustment speed, image storage, and review. Options include motorized regulation kits, a hand-held strobe, positioning memory, and multi-unit set-ups for synchronized back/front monitoring.

H-426 and H-434 all-metal thermal transfer printers are suited for high-volume printing in 200 or 300 dpi. Feature a full backlit LCD and standard real-time clock. Use ink-in or ink-out ribbons and feature a 450-m capacity, a stripper sensor for strip-and-peel or tear-off applications, and serial, parallel, PS/2, and USB interfaces. H-Series has internal memory to store downloaded label formats, graphics, and fonts and to operate without being connected to a computer.

Kanzaki KL370 (DTM Product Series) is upgraded to a topcoated, medium- to high-sensitivity direct thermal paper with high environmental resistance. With a brighter white facestock, product is said to generate sharp, readable labels with increased image density for darker images that “pop.” Other benefits: increased heat and water resistance and improved image resolution for higher resolution graphics, small fonts, and two-dimensional bar codes.
