Enercon's ELF Roll Designed for Thin Film Converters

MENOMONEE FALLS, WI, USA—Enercon Industries Corporation reports the development of ELF—Enercon low friction—roll specifically designed lighter weight film substrates. Enercon says ELF's lightweight design reduces momentum and inertia significantly, allowing the roll to turn more freely than conventional rolls; this, says the co., adds to production stability, especially during frequent stops and starts.
"Continued development in films have put the pressure on many converters to handle thinner and more lightweight films," says Enercon. "These films are more difficult to handle than their thicker predecessors and can wrinkle and pucker easily throughout the line. If the web is not properly handled, the problem intensifies at the corona treater."
