Patrick J. O'Brien has joined Creo-Scitex, Burnaby, B.C., Canada, as packaging sales manager for the Northeast region in North America.

The International Prepress Assn., Edina, MN, has appointed Steve Bonoff its new president. Bonoff succeeds Hank Hatch, who recently retired after a long and successful career in prepress.

Indigo NV, Maastricht, The Netherlands, has appointed Dr. Joel S. Birnbaum to its board of directors. Birnbaum is also the special technical assistant to Hewlett Packard's CEO.

Agfa-Gevaert N.V., Mortsel, Belgium, has named Ludo Verhoeven CEO and president of the board of management of the Agfa-Gevaert group. Michael Korn has been named general manager of the mfr.'s consumer imaging business group. Agfa also announces the opening of an Operation Center in Shanghai. The center will handle sales, service, and logistics activities in the People's Republic of China.

Nick Brunk now holds the position of national sales manager, packaging prepress North America, at Barco Graphics, Vandalia, OH.

X-Rite, Grandville, MI, recently announced the appointment of Michael C. Ferrara as president and chief operating officer. Rich Cook will retain his position as CEO.

Mike Chadwick has joined Presstek, Hudson, NH, as the co.'s DI (direct imaging) product manager.

Co-founder and former president of Digital Art Exchange (DAX) Brad Giles has joined RealTimeImage, San Bruno, CA, as senior VP, worldwide sales.

Canopy LLC, Pennsauken, NJ (a joint venture of PrimeSource and Xeikon) has appointed Phil Kane VP of sales.

Xaar plc, Cambridge, U.K., has announced the opening of a sales office in Hong Kong. The opening is part of an overall program of planned growth in the co.'s Asian market.

Man Roland, Westmont, IL, recently held a Technology Open House (attended by PFFC) at its suburban Chicago headquarters. The co. demonstrated the integration of prepress and its press equipment. In addition to the demo, the two-day event featured presentations that addressed the impact of digital technology on print businesses.
