GREEN BAY, WI, USA—Paper Converting Machine Co. (PCMC) reports Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC), in neighboring Appleton, WI, recently purchased an eight-color, wide web Avanti™, a gearless flexographic printing press. According to PCMC, the press will be incorporated into the established curriculum at FVTC.
"PCMC is eager to work with Fox Valley Technical College on this important project. This new press will be a benefit not only to the college, but also to PCMC customers and other equipment manufacturers," states the co. Adds Terry Bergen , FVTC executive director, "[We're] tremendously excited about the opportunity to acquire a PCMC Avanti press and work with [them]. The flexo printers in the Fox Valley are looking for employees that are skilled in the latest flexographic technology. …A PCMC Avanti wide web press in the…pressroom will enable the college to create a [advanced] training pressroom. Together, along with other flexo leaders, we will build a quality workforce for the industry."
PCMC says fundraisers have been set up by both PCMC and FVTC to offset the cost of this important industry-training project.
