Zip-Pak Unveils EZ Open Strip for Food-Service Packages

MANTENO, IL, USA—In early October, Zip-Pak announced the availability of its new EZ Open Strip for food-service packages. According to the producer of resealing packaging technologies, the new tear-off strip, with encapsulated perforation, provides easy access to the product inside without the use of knives, scissors, or other sharp objects. The mfr. adds the closure is ideal for single-use product packages such as produce and frozen foods.

Zip-Pak says the EZ Open Strip is ideal for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) packages. "Its proprietary Perf Cap (encapsulated perforation) feature keeps bags airtight and provides a hermetic, tamper-evident feature for added safety. [The closure] is available on pre-made wicketed bags and can be applied to a three-side-sealed package cost-effectively on the Pacmac 9500Z vertical form-fill-seal machine," adds the co.
