Menasha honored For Safety

NEENAe, WI | Menasha Packaging's Folding Carton Group has been honored for its outstanding safety performance by the Paperboard Packaging Council. The company received the Chairman's Safety Award for excellence in safety at PPC's annual conference held in San Diego, CA, March 16-18. The group received the award for the most consecutive production hours worked (477,722) without an OSHA recordable incident.

In addition, Safety Snags, a successful hazard reporting system developed by the Neenah Folding Carton Group in 2004, recently was branded and launched as a companywide program. More than 1,800 Menasha Packaging employees now can identify and report safety issues and develop solutions to reduce the risk to personnel. The company tracks all snags in a database to trend for continuous improvement and accident prevention. In January and February, employees submitted more than 470 snags companywide.
