GLOUCESTER, MA | The Tag and Label Mfrs. Institute (TLMI) has announced the winners of the Eugene Singer Award for Management Excellence. The award recognizes excellence in business management measured and defined by an established set of growth and profitability ratios through the participation in the TLMI Management Ratio Study. The Singer Award is given annually to four narrow web converting companies, each company within a certain sales range category. The 2012 TLMI Eugene Singer Awards were given to the following companies at the association’s recent Converter Meeting in Palm Beach, FL:
Columbine Label Co., Centennial, CO, won in the small company category for the second time. Company president Greg Jackson says, “Winning the Singer award again is a really big honor and very exciting for the entire Columbine team. We have a good number of long-term employees who take a great deal of pride in their work and strive to make us a top-performing company. To win this award, particularly considering the quality of the other TLMI participants, is really a testament to their efforts and hard work. My congratulations to our entire team, as well as our customers and suppliers who make all of this possible.”
Flexo-Graphics, Butler, WI, won for the mid-range company category. This is Flexo-Graphics’ first time winning the award and company president Tim McDonough says, “Flexo-Graphics is honored to receive this award considering how many great companies are involved in TLMI. Flexo-Graphics has used the Ratio Study every year as a benchmarking tool in our quest of continual improvement.…”
