NEW YORK, NY | Interphex 2013, the annual pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical trade show, comes to the Javits Center in New York City April 23–25. Following are some of the companies that will be displaying their innovations.
Schreiner MediPharm, Oberschleißheim, Germany, a provider of specialty pharmaceutical labeling solutions for over 60 years, will introduce the newest member of its Pharma-Comb family with integrated anti-counterfeiting technologies. The Pharma-Comb peel-off label offers a multi-level security system that can be customized to suit the specific requirements of pharmaceutical manufacturers. Equipped with integrated security features, the new label combines overt features such as holograms, color-shifting security inks, and guilloche patterns with more covert elements, including certain voiding effects and LaserSecure—described as a sophisticated method incorporating special pigments that only becomes visible via a dedicated hand-held reading device. 3C! Packaging, Clayton, NC, an independent privately owned pharmaceutical packaging solutions company specializing in the design and manufacture of custom folding cartons, printed literature, inserts/outserts, and unit dose compliant packaging, will showcase its label manufacturing equipment. The new equipment is said to open the door for an expanded suite of services, allowing the company to offer all-in-one capabilities to customers wishing to have their cartons, inserts/outserts, and labels produced under one roof. Rondo-Pak, Norristown, PA, a provider of folding cartons to the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries, has developed a folding box with a tamper-evidence feature said to surpass future first opening verification security requirements. The folding box’s first opening is easily detectable through perforations in the lid and dust flaps that rip off upon opening, company says. Manufacturing process is reported to be simple and efficient. (Visit booth 3103)
