PIA Announces InterTech Awards

PITTSBURGH, PA | Printing Industries of America offers descriptions of the recipients of the 2016 InterTech Technology Awards. The independent panel of judges deliberated over technology nominations which showcased the dynamic and innovative nature of the industry.
Among the winners were the following:
Highcon Systems won for the Highcon Beam with 3D modeling. The combination of Highcon Beam’s digital cutting and creasing capability and the optional 3D Modeling module lets users pursue opportunities in 3D production. The workflow converts 3D models into separate layers according to a paper's thickness that are then laser cut on the Highcon Beam.
InSoft took home an award for Imp, its flagship software, which was recognized for its level of automation and intelligent layout creation, imposition, ganging, and die management across multiple printing technologies including offset, digital, VSOP, and large format.
Xerox metallic dry inks are suited for coated and uncoated papers, bright papers, DocuCard, labels, business cards, glossy brochures, window decals, durable/synthetic papers, greeting cards, tabs, embossed, polyesters, and custom solutions. Inks are offered exclusively for the Xerox Color 800i/1000i presses.
The Xerox Versant 2100 press with Ultra HD Resolution is said to provide versatile technology with power, performance, and automation.
