MIDLAND, MI | Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics will showcase INNATE Precision Packaging Resins at PACK EXPO, November 6–9, 2016, at Chicago’s McCormick Place. Developed from a patented molecular catalyst coupled with advanced process technology, the new resins are said to offer an unprecedented balance of toughness and stiffness in combination with excellent tear and puncture resistance.
Company says resins can provide film stiffness needed for efficient filling, displaying, and storing of packages such as stand-up pouches; improved toughness in combination with excellent flex crack resistance for liquid packaging; package integrity for excellent shelf life, helping keep foods protected longer to reduce food waste. Also said to be suited for industrial films including heavy-duty shipping sacks.
Reported advantages include ease of processing, high melt strength enabling excellent bubble stability (even with thick films), and more shear thinning, allowing for lower amps and melt temperatures.
