Milwaukee to Host R2R USA Conference 2023 Association for Roll-to-Roll Converters Issues Call for Papers

The Association for Roll-to-Roll Converters (formerly AIMCAL) will hold its annual flagship event, the R2R USA Conference, October 2-5, 2023, at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the heart of the Midwest converting corridor. The location was chosen to make it easy for many converters to participate.

Special registration pricing for converters will offer an additional incentive to attend. “Our goal is to organize an event with training, innovations, and an expo focused for converters,” explained Chris Kerscher, executive director of the Association for Roll-to-Roll Converters.

“This will be the first R2R USA Conference held under our new name,” noted Andy Jack, president of the Association for Roll-to-Roll Converters. “The Milwaukee location is a nod to both our roots in metallizing, coating, and laminating and our broader present and future with ever-evolving opportunities for roll-to-roll converting.”

A Call for Papers has been issued. Proposals are due by May 31, 2023, and may be submitted at https://www.rolltoroll.org/2023-r2r-usa-conference. The multi-track agenda includes sessions on Coating & Laminating, Vacuum Web Coating, Vacuum Metallizing, Web Handling, Adhesives & Coatings, Flexible Packaging, R2R Battery Manufacturing, Printed Electronics, Sustainability, Market Forecasts, Gravure Coating, and Printing. The association’s popular Fundamentals Workshops on Web Handling, Coating and Drying, and Gravure also will be offered.

“Most people attend the R2R conferences to solve a technical problem or make new connections,” said Kerscher, adding, “This conference is designed to offer ample opportunities to achieve both goals. We plan to draw a large local audience and are offering special discounts to converters (anyone processing or handling a continuous web of paper, films, foils, or textiles).”

Technical sessions occupy only part of the schedule. Other meeting highlights include VIP keynotes, panel discussions, networking activities, and a large exhibit floor with 10x10-foot exhibits.
