Sheeter Increases Efficiency, Productivity

Richwood, KY | Roosevelt Paper Co. installs its second twin synchronous knife folio sheeter Model KMC 165 from Kmec USA's Dreamcut range.

The first machine was installed at Roosevelt's Mt. Laurel, NJ, facility in February 2007; the second sheeter is destined for the Richwood, KY, plant (a third plant is located in Chicago, IL). Both machines are 65 in. wide, complete with six shaftless floor pick-up unwinds with 72-in. maximum unwind capacity and a sheet length cut-off range of 16-63 in.

“Based on the success of the first machine we had no hesitation in ordering a second machine,” said operations manager Bill Baltrusaitis. “We spent some considerable time and resources a couple of years ago to find a sheeter that would give us the flexibility, productivity, and, of course, accuracy that we required in order to increase our efficiency.

“…After visiting their [Kmec] facility in Spain and running trials, we determined that this was the sheeter for us, and of equal importance, this was obviously a company committed to the support of their customers,” says Baltrusaitis.

“The experience with Kmec exceeded our expectations. Over the past two years Kontrelmec s.l. [Kmec] has consistently shown us their commitment to the North American market through Kmec USA, and we are confident of a continued and mutually beneficial relationship with them.”
