CYRSTAL LAKE, IL | The 2011 Odyssey, sponsored by the Intl. Assn. of Diecutting and Diemaking (IADD) and the Foil & Specialty Effects Assn. (FSEA), will be held May 4-6, at the Nashville Convention Center. Featured will be the Techshop, a simulated working production shop floor with technical sessions in which die-cutting, die-making, folding/gluing, foil stamping/embossing, and other print finishing processes will be taught on-press. Cutting-edge video equipment and live-action feeds will allow attendees to see all action on the presses up-close and in real time.

Among the state-of-the-art machinery featured on the Techshop floor will be the Heidelberg Varimatrix 105 C/CS, which die-cuts and embosses a wide range of stock from paper and paperboard to corrugated. Also on board: the Bobst Expertcut 106 PER die-cutter; the Bobst Expertfold 110 A-2 CS folder-gluer; the Gerber combination laser and profile routing systems; the NSF Elite high-speed foil fusing press from Therm-O-Type; the Rotary Converting Platform (RCP) from Preco Industries; the AutoClam die-cutting, foil stamping, and embossing press from My Press Needs; and other machinery from Adams Technologies, Associated Pacific Machinery, and more.
