R&D Center Adds Coating Line

PAWCATUCK, CT | Davis-Standard has installed a seven-layer cast coextrusion film and sheet pilot line at the Pasadena, TX, Research and Technical Center of Kuraray EVAL group. Gene Medlock, principal research engineer at Kuraray America, says, “This system gives our existing and potential customers access to innovative process technology and a pilot scale line to produce model film and sheet structures for lab and field application testing.” The line features five extruders and is capable of producing cast film and sheet in thicknesses ranging from 1-60 mils (25-1,524 microns). It also supports configurations up to 21 layers using a Cloeren NanoLayer feed block.
