New BOPP Plant Starts Up in Egypt

NOIDA, INDIA | The UFLEX Group has commissioned its new greenfield BOPP film plant in Egypt, about 40 km from Cairo. The 8.7-m-wide, 500-mpm coextruded BOPP film line can produce more than 35,000 MT (about 80 million lbs)/yr. The film line is supplemented by a 2.85-m-wide, plasma-enhanced, high-barrier vacuum metallizer.

The second phase of the project will see the installation of a CPP film line, and this will be followed during 2011 with a new 8.7-m, 500-mpm coextruded BOPET film line that can deliver 36,000 MT (about 80 million lbs)/yr. This line will be supplemented by a new high-barrier metallizer.
