Omet Offers Digital Press for Flexpack

LECCO, ITALY | Omet introduces the JetPlus inkjet digital unit combined in-line both on XFlex X6 label presses or Varyflex V2 package platform presses for flexible packaging.

Seen at drupa 2012 was a four-color unit, expandable with the addition of in-line finishing possibilities and said to offer high quality printing at an average speed of 60 mpm. Reportedly, unit provides a standard level of productivity for short runs of highly decorated and complex artwork.

Company says the main breakthrough here is the manner of accomplishing the change of digital printing from complementary to the main printing technology when the job requires it. This is simplified because the presses are configured as multi-process and platform combination. Great support is offered by the use of the Monotwin Cut die-cutting unit offering high speed rates and no downtimes for die change or cylinder change.

In addition, JetPlus is equipped with an innovative automatic washing system, which prevents the ink on the printing heads from drying even when the press is in stand-by mode.
