Codimag Press Has Quality, Cost Benefits

CEDEX, FRANCE | Codimag reports the VIVA 340 press was well received at last fall’s
Labelexpo show, where attendees watched it change four different jobs (graphics and repeat) in minutes, print 166 Pantone colors from seven-color expanded gamut, and deliver what the company says was true offset print quality using low-cost Toray waterless offset plates. Also featured was Codimag’s ANIFLO anilox-based offset printing technology.

The VIVA press reportedly combines the best of offset with the flexo printing process, including an anilox inking system, chamber doctor blade, short four-roller ink train, and deep, rich colors. Said to be more efficient than flexo for short runs or digital for medium runs, the press eliminates the need to change cylinders for all repeat sizes, use stick back tape, or change anilox to match densities.
