NASPO to Conduct Security Training Series

WASHINGTON, DC | The North American Security Products Organization (NASPO) will conduct its complete, five-part Professional Development certification training for security managers over three days starting March 31, 2014.
This comprehensive training series teaches the industry’s best practices, along with ISO and ANSI standards, for establishing and applying anti-counterfeiting and anti-fraud measures by manufacturers and distributors of tangible products. 
NASPO’s 2014 Professional Training session will be conducted March 31 through April 3, 2014 at the 3M Innovation Center in Austin, TX. The course consists of two half-day and three full-day training modules covering Security Awareness, Security Standard Compliance, Protecting Electronic Data, Security Risk Analysis, and Confidentiality and Secrecy Practices. The training is being held in conjunction with NASPO’s 40th annual membership meeting April 3–4 at the same facility.
Sixty-eight individuals participated in NASPO’s Professional Development training course last year. “Professional development is at the core of NASPO’s mission in its effort to enhance security through standardization,” says NASPO chairman Rick Ward. “Security managers are ultimately responsible for upholding those standards, serving as the first line of defense for the security of their organizations and the valuable information they possess.”
NASPO, is a not-for-profit consortium of US firms dedicated to security solutions for brands, identities, and documents. The organization helped create the current ANSI/NASPO Security Assurance Standards for the Document and Product Security Industries.
