Flint to Debut App at INFO*FLEX

PLYMOUTH, MI | Flint Group Flexographic Products will debut its FlexoToolbox App for iPhone and Android devices at the INFO*FLEX exhibition, April 28–29, at the Baltimore Convention Center. The exhibition is part of the Annual Forum of the Flexographic Technical Assn.

The FlexoToolbox App is an interactive collection of tools incorporating many different functions for simplifying flexo prepress, platemaking, and process control. Company says the app can assist platemakers with tasks ranging from the calculation of plate distortion and solvent balance to monitoring UV-A irradiance and the determination of sleeve diameters. It will be available for free in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in late April 2014. At Booth #1103 the company will offer live demonstrations of the app at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily.

Also on display will be the new rotec high-speed sleeve with a specialized design for high-speed press performance. The exclusive composition of the sleeve is said to eliminate bounce-induced skipping while allowing for a significant increase in press speed. With its PU structure, the sleeve can be combined with virtually any type of adapter or cylinder to achieve a reduction in press vibration and bounce.

The company will also showcase other products including flexographic printing plates, sleeves/adapters, and a comprehensive portfolio of packaging and narrow web inks.
