NicEtikett Starts Life with Two Mark Andy Performance Series P7

Swedish start-up label converter NicEtikett has installed two Mark Andy Performance Series P7 presses at its production facility in Skåne County, Helsingborg, with a view to diversifying the product offering from narrow web flexo technology, according to owner and CEO Sten-Inge Fredin.
As the former owner of SCANDSTICK (now part of Beontag), Sten-Inge brings more than 40 years’ experience to the company that is located in beautifully restored farm buildings that previously stabled horses with an indoor riding school, as well as a label printing company with two small and ancient letterpress machines. The whole site occupies almost 17,000 sqm and still includes more than 200 apple and pear trees and a soft fruit orchard.
A visit to the production site leaves visitors in no doubt that NicEtikett is being set up as a model company. “We have all new technology of the best type that money can buy,” he stated, adding “The two Mark Andy presses have the 20” web width – one is an eight-colour fitted with Vetaphone corona treater, chill drums and GEW UV curing – the other is a four-colour with both water-base and UV ink capability. They will give us the flexibility we need to grow our product portfolio.”
Both presses are currently being commissioned and will come online in October. Also on order are a Ben Bunch fan folder and Rietstack stacker to add capability for folded and sheeted labels.
Right now, the company is being pro-active in the recruitment market. The location offers a good selection of new housing nearby, and a convenient 10-minute rail link into Helsingborg was opened recently. With stylish offices and brand-new production facilities, Sten Inge is keen to attract the best qualified people to launch his new venture. Looking to gear up for 24/7 production, he foresees staff numbers of around 25 with an additional 10 or so for admin.
Speaking for Mark Andy, Sales Manager of Scandinavian agent Convertec, Joakim Marcusson said, “This is a very exciting project, and we are delighted to be involved from the very beginning – NicEtikett looks certain to make a major impact on the Scandinavian label market, and beyond, and I am confident the two Performance P7 presses will offer all the flexible production capability required.”
