Mark Andy Given FTA Technical Innovation Award

ST. LOUIS, MO | Mark Andy's Performance Series line of flexographic presses has been awarded the 2011 Technical Innovation Award by the Flexographic Technical Assn. (FTA). This annual honor is bestowed upon companies "who seek ways to further refine and advance the flexographic print process and who bring significant contributions to the industry in terms of adoption, change and competitive posture." The award was presented to Mark Andy representatives Paul Brauss, president, and Jeff Feltz, director of product management, at the FTA Awards Banquet, Sunday, May 1, during the FTA Annual Forum and INFO*FLEX event at the Indiana Convention Ctr. in Indianapolis, IN.

"We are proud of the impact the Performance Series has made on the industry," states Brauss. "Mark Andy continues to search for ways to supersede our customers' expectations and the Performance Series has done just that. The simplicity of operation, rapid changeovers, and drastically reduced waste have proven to users that a capital investment in new technology can be profitable."

Entries were judged based on Technical Achievement, Impact on the Industry, Description of Technology, and User Testimonials.

"To receive this award from the FTA is such an honor for Mark Andy," remarked Feltz. "Our design, engineering, and manufacturing teams have worked diligently to produce a product that really hit on the key requirements of today's converter. Our print experts and customer service teams are following up on Performance Series installations to make sure our clients' are achieving optimum efficiency and productivity with their investment. This award is a true compliment to our entire organization."

The Performance Series was introduced to the market at Labelexpo Europe 2009 and since its introduction more than 70 have been sold worldwide. The P7 model will be on display at PrintEx in Sydney, Australia, May 4—6,  and all three models will be available for viewing at Labelexpo Europe 2011, to be held September 28—October 1 in Brussels, Belgium.
