EMT International Builds Customized Punch and Perfing Finishing Solution for Heeter

EMT International, a leading supplier of finishing equipment to the digital print, label and packaging industries announces a new customer installation aligned with its strategy to bring innovative digital finishing solutions to the marketplace. Heeter has installed an EMT RF Series Chameleon digital processing system. The RF series leverages highly customizable punch and perforating capabilities, which Heeter is using for processing coil-bound flip books and other applications.

The solution was designed and built to run directly in line with Heeter’s RICOH Pro VC70000 continuous feed inkjet printer with several EMT finishing functions that support Heeter’s desire to run some very unique publishing applications for their customers, including larger-format flip books used in interactive elementary education environments.

For Heeter and their customers, the RF Series finishing solution provides significant flexibility and operational gains by using multiple punch capabilities in cross-web and down-web configurations. Additionally, there are dynamic and static perforating capabilities in the same system.

“EMT International successfully met the challenge to design a white paper solution for Heeter with a number of cutting-edge finishing functions in a single processing line with dynamic capabilities,” said Tom Boyle, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Heeter. “The combination of EMT’s expertise in punch and perfing solutions with the Ricoh Pro VC70000 continuous feed inkjet printer has helped Heeter expand production of high-quality publishing, direct mail, and commercial print application support for our customers.”

“Having the opportunity to work with a dynamic company like Heeter is something the entire EMT International team realizes reflects our ‘outside-in’ methodology of engaging with customers,” said Mike Herold, Executive Vice President, Marketing & Sales at EMT International. “We are constantly listening to our current and potential customers about what is needed in the market to bring value. This allows us to respond quickly with our integrated engineering, service, and manufacturing team in Hobart, Wisconsin. Customers like Heeter then benefit from this ‘design-thinking’ approach as it results in innovations such as page pulse technology for post-print processing, application flexibility, and automation.”

EMT’s punch, perfing, and other finishing solutions will be demonstrated at drupa May 28-June 7, 2024 in hall 6, stand A42.
