Atlas and Titan Report Successful drupa

BEDFORD, UK | Atlas Converting Equipment (UK) reports a significant level of inquiries and sales of several Titan slitter/rewinders during the drupa (http://www.drupa.com/) 2012 exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany, including one Titan ER610 compact slitter to a new customer in Germany.

The company ran daily demonstrations of the new Titan SR9 Series dual-turret (DT) slitter/rewinder at the show. The slitter, which is said to reduce machine downtime, ran at speeds to 900 mpm and demonstrated roll set changes of less than 30 sec.

Also featured at drupa, and also reportedly garnering interest from customers from many parts of the world, was the new Atlas CW Series technology platform for primary and secondary slitter/rewinders for film and flexible materials. The CW technology platform introduces the next generation of more compact film slitting solutions in web widths from 2.5–10.4 m (100–410 in.). It is said to deliver higher efficiency, increased productivity and reliability, higher quality rewind rolls, reduced noise levels, and more effective, operator-friendly control systems.

This latest Atlas technology also features wireless rewind arm positioning, automatic knife positioning, direct drive web path rollers, and running speeds to 1,500 mpm (4,920 fpm) with what is said to be more precise web tension control.

A new service platform for the Atlas and Titan range of slitter/rewinders provides expanded global customer service and support operations, with engineers based in India, China, and North America as well as the UK.
