Esko-Graphics and HP Indigo Partner for Digital Production of Labels

PRESS RELEASE

DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY—At Drupa, which concluded last week in Germany, Esko-Graphics announced a complete digital printing solution for digital label production. According to the company, the "solution" includes HP Indigo digital printing presses and its own Scope front-end workflow system.

Says Esko-Graphics, "Label printers and converters [are receiving] considerable market focus from both Esko-Graphics and HP. By aligning resources, [our companies] create significant added value for [our] common customer base."

Esko-Graphics says the system uses the Scope workflow system, a single prepress system, which drives both conventional and HP Indigo digital printing presses. "This will allow the user to decide at the end of the workflow to which press he will send his job," explains Esko-Graphics.

Notes René Delbar, sr. marketing VP at Esko, “Digital and conventional printing are complementary technologies. With an Esko-Graphics Scope pre-production system, both workflows are now supported and tightly linked. The advantage is that printers that own exceptional HP Indigo presses can invest in one prepress system for both analog and digital printing," Delbar adds.

“What HP finds most exciting is that now, with the Esko-Graphics Scope workflow solution, the printer can significantly improve the efficiency of his total operation," states HP's industrial printing program manager Danny Dams. “The prepress department will be able to process small and large jobs more economically and route them to the appropriate press.”

Says M. Oude Nijeweme, ICT manager at Eshuis (Dahlsen, the Netherlands), the beta site for this new solution: “Faster, better, and smarter. For Eshuis, the cooperation between HP and Esko-Graphics results in higher throughput, as well as better predictability and reproducibility on HP Indigo presses.”
