Labelexpo Americas 2004 to Provide Focus for Narrow Web Industry; Smart Packaging Conference to Precede Show

PRESS RELEASE

DES PLAINES, IL, USA—Though summer is in full swing across America, organizers of and participants in Labelexpo Americas 2004 seem to be ignoring the "lazy days" attitude and are gearing up for what sponsors are touting as "the focus of the industry" in September.

"With the world economy picking up, numerous developments in the labels industry, and all the key players signed up, we can expect another great show," states the event's summer newsletter. "Issues such as efficiency, productivity, profitability, reducing margins, consolidation, and globalization are all being faced by the industry—and solutions to these issues will be a available at Labelexpo Americas with the opportunity to see working machinery, demonstrations, share ideas, and learn about new technology."

In addition to the education offering on the trade show floor, the venue will also include a conference program that offers an excellent forum for learning about and debating current issues as well as for hearing from key industry spokespeople, say the show organizers. Key sessions include:

  • The State of the Label Industry;
  • The Current State of Digital Printing;
  • Managing Cash Flow;
  • Increasing Profits through Plant Efficiencies; and
  • Educating Your Sales Force.
Raflatac president Dan O'Connell will deliver the keynote address for the conference program.

Smart Packaging to Kick-Off Labelexpo Event
Slated for September 8 and 9, 2004, the inaugural Smart Packaging 2004 will also be staged at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center venue.

Developed in co-operation with the Institute of Packaging Professionasl (IOPP), the two-day interactive conference will cover all aspects of smart packaging, say organizers. "Smart Packaging 2004 has been designed specifically to engage technologies to improve performance; improve efficiency; and enforce and implement safety and brand security."
