CIP4 to Host JDF Seminars at IPEX

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND—The International Cooperation for the Integration of Processes in Prepress, Press, and Postpress (CIP4) recently announced a series of seminars at the upcoming IPEX event in Birmingham, England, next month.
According to CIP4, three different seminars will be offered on Thursday, April 11, 2002, at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) Concourse Suite 1.
- Seminar 1– 09:00 to 10:50 (9 to 10:50 am)
"What Is CIP4's JDF and How Can It Help My Print Workflow?" will answer print shop questions about JDF's practical benefits to workflow. Speakers include:
Christian Anschutz, Heidelberg;
Doug Belkofer, printCafe;
Christian Gugler, MAN Roland;
Dave deBronkart, PODI; and
John Sweeney, GMI - Seminar 2 – 11:00 to 11:50 (11 to 11:50 am)
"What Types of Business Opportunities Does CIP4's JDF Enable for Vendors and Consultants?" will help product and service providers understand the opportunities and responsibilities enabled by JDF. Speakers include:
Stephan Jaeggi, Prepress Consulting; and
Margaret Motamed, CIP4 Marketing Officer, EFI - Seminar 3 – 13:00 to 15:30 (1 to 3:30 pm)
"Developer's Seminar, Technical Introduction to CIP4's JDF" will provide an overview for technical developers. Topics will include a summary of the changes from JDF 1.0 to JDF 1.1 and an introduction to device-capability modeling. An update to PPML to incorporate JDF support will also be presented. Speakers include:
Rainer Prosi, CIP4 Technical Officer, Heidelberg; and
Steve Hiebert, HP
In addition to the seminars, reports CIP4, a press event will be held to present and answer questions about JDF-related announcements at IPEX. The event is slated for April 11, 2002, 16:00 (4:00 pm), NEC, Concourse Suite 1.
