Total Donates $1 Million to Hurricane Katrina Effort

HOUSTON, TX—The U.S.-based affiliates of Total S.A. have donated $1 million to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund. This contribution will aid Hurricane Katrina relief efforts in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi, where the following Total affiliates conduct business: Total E&P USA, Inc. Total Gas & Power North America, Inc., Total Petrochemicals USA, Inc., Arkema Inc., Sigma Coatings USA and Atlantic Trading and Marketing, Inc.

Group, I extend the deepest gratitude to the American Red Cross for its efforts and commitment during this difficult situation,” said Thierry Desmarest, chairman and CEO of Total S.A. “Our thoughts are with all of the relief staff and volunteers, as well as all of Hurricane Katrina’s victims.”

The U.S.-based affiliates of Total span the oil and gas chain, from crude oil and natural gas exploration and production to refining, marketing and trading, and also manufacture a broad range of chemicals and performance products.
