PRESS RELEASE
CHARLOTTE, NC—The Packaging and Label Gravure Assn. (PLGA) has awarded Nireco America with a 2005 Technical Achievement Award for its new ICM1000 Online Color Measuring System. The ICM1000 won the Process Control category.
The color monitor uses a color camera to continually monitor a web and will notify operators if color drift exceeds tolerance limits. Accuracy is similar to that of a hand-held spectrophotometer. The ICM1000 uses a motorized traverse and a temperature-controlled 3CCD camera to monitor up to 20 different points in a printed repeat. A reference tile is built into the camera and the system is self-calibrating.
