SAN LOUIS OBISPO, CA—Cal Poly Packaging Assn. will present its annual one-day ESD seminar on May 11, 2006. Topics to be discussed include factory issues, general ESD practices, monitoring, ionization, machine considerations for ESD safety, ESD materials, and packaging inside and outside the ANSI/ESD S20.20-1999 ESD protective area (EPA). A study of the materials qualification sequence will be discussed for product protection in the factory, cleanrooms, plus outgoing shipments and field repairs.

Attendess will gain a basic understanding of ESD materials, plus coverage of ESD design and packaging fundamentals with material protocols and the new ESD Packaging Test Methods per ANSI/ESD Standard 541-2003 with on-site demonstrations. This course will cover the ranges and values for ESD testing methods at the proper relative humidities. More information, including an outline for the seminar, is available at cppackaging.us.
