PRESS RELEASE
Representatives of the Metroplex Technology Business Council (MTBC), recognized as the largest technology association in Texas, recently announced its commitment to global leadership in the RFID industry with the unveiling of a new RFID Hub identity for the region. The new identity and logo, introduced by the RFID Special Interest Group of the MTBC at the 4th Annual RFID World Conference, emphasizes the regional commitment to the RFID industry, as well as the depth and breadth of the existing RFID ecosystem in North Texas.
“We are creating an additional identity for our region, the RFID Hub, so the international business community recognizes that North Texas is a global center of RFID excellence,” says Bill Sproull, president and CEO of the MTBC. “This new RFID Hub identity underscores our region’s critical role in establishing and growing leading technological sectors that facilitate commerce worldwide and, in particular, our strength in RFID and other wireless technology.”
MTBC leaders emphasized that the new RFID Hub moniker is just part of the region’s continued, overall commitment to leadership in the technology industry, including sectors such as semiconductor production, telecommunications, software development, computer services and nanotechnology.
“The roll-out of the RFID Hub identity furthers our goal of introducing the local RFID industry to the world,” says Charles Humphreyson, CEO of The Prova Group and tri-chair of the MTBC RFID Steering Committee. “We are excited about this strategic announcement, which works in tandem with our positioning as a leader in other technological sectors to make the Dallas/Fort Worth region an even more attractive place for forward-thinking, global companies.”
