CHICAGO, IL—K 2007, the Intl. Trade Fair for Plastics + Rubber, will take place October 24-31, 2006, at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany, and will feature a special exhibit, "Plastic wraps it up!" Organized by Messe Düsseldorf and the German plastics industry and spearheaded by Plastics Europe Deutschland, this special exhibit will demonstrate polymers' contribution to the fundamental functions of packaging: protection, information, and presentation.

"Plastic wraps it up!" will present solutions in a broader sense, encompassing more than just product packaging: Plastic protects fruits while transported just as it protects the head of a bicycle rider; an attractive presentation is just as important for products on shelves as it is in fashionable clothing for people. The exhibit will showcase intelligent, high-tech materials and will deal with aspects of transportation, production, environmental protection, durability, art, and design.
