Heidelberg and Bosch Rexroth Announce Year-End Results

KENNESAW, GA—Heidelberg's fiscal year ended March 31, 2006. Achievements for the year include:
- Shipped more than 1,000 printing units.
- A 73% increase in 20-inch format press installations and a 58% increase in 40-inch format press installations.
- A 15% increase in consumables product sales.
- A 16% increase in prepress sales with increased CTP shipments and greater market penetration of the company's Prinect workflow solutions.
During the year, Heidelberg also opened regional offices in Baltimore, Boston, Dallas, Detroit, Minneapolis, and San Franciso, as well as a 33,000 sq.-ft. Print Media Demonstration Center (PMDC) in Kennesaw, GA. Since its opening in May 2005, the PMDC has hosted more than 250 companies.

LOHR, GERMANY—Bosch Rexroth has increased sales in 2005 by 12.6% to approximately $5.7 billion. The company achieved this growth in all technology fields and in all regions. It spent $322 million in capital investments and increased the number of employees worldwide to 28,257.
In 2006 Bosch built additional production facilities in Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, and North and South America to meet increasing demand for electric drives and controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and linear and motion technology. In addition, the company invested $240 million in research and development.
The company is anticipating further sales growth in 2006. The number of orders booked in the first two months of 2006 has exceeded the comparable figures for the preceding year.
