Indian Plastic Manufacturer Strikes Alliances

Kabra Extrusiontechnik, India's largest manufacturer and exporter of plastic extrusion machinery, will offer equity stakes to Battenfeld Extrusiontechnik and American Maplan Corp., both of which are part of the SMS Plastics Technology Group. SMS has a global market share of about 30% in pipe and profile extrusion machinery and 15% in sheet extrusion machinery.

Kabra now will have access to advanced plastic extrusion technologies of Battenfeld and American Maplan, including a new but synergistic range of extrusion machinery and some innovation products that will be introduced for the first time in India. The company hopes these alliances will open up outsourcing opportunities.
