NEWTOWN, PA— Two new models of Cyclops portable infrared thermometers from Land Instruments Intl. are available: Cyclops 100 and Cyclops 100B. Both provide wired RS232C serial communications.
The hand-held thermometers use digital signal processing techniques to provide precise temperature readings within the range of 550 to 3,000 degrees Celsius. The reflex optical system gives a narrow field of view (180:1, to 98% energy), permitting measurement of targets as small as 4.8 mm at 1 meter in distance. Targets as small as 0.4 mm diameter also can be measured using close-up lenses. Cyclops can be programmed to provide reflectivity compensation for measuring targets in hotter surroundings.
C100 offers classic, historical, and burst mode (up to 35 readings per second) data logging to the optional DL-1000 Data Logger software via a wired connection to HP iPAQ or PC/laptop. The C100B provides the addition of Bluetooth wireless data logging to DL-1000.
