PRESS RELEASE
FLORHAM PARK, NJ—Effective July 1, or as contracts allow, BASF will raise prices by $0.03 per wet pound in the United States and Canada on all straight acrylic and styrene-acrylic latex products sold under the Acronal and Acronal Optive brand names that are supplied to the adhesives, architectural coatings, construction, and fiber bonding industries. This action is a result of increased energy, raw material, and transportation costs.
At the same time, BASF also will increase prices for its Styrolux and Styroclear styrene-butadiene copolymers (SBC) in North America by $0.04 per pound. This action is to combat increased costs in raw materials and transportation, among other factors. Styrolux is used in injection molding and extrusion thermoplastic applications for medical applications, food service products, shrink labels, film wrap, toys, and household appliances. Styroclear is a line of injection molding resins for premium-quality, clear garment hangers.
