PRESS RELEASE
SHANGHAI, CHINA—Ipack-Ima is going to create an Italian "outpost" in the Chinese market for converting, packaging, and food processing companies. Beginning next July, it will provide Italian companies with a 2,000-sq.-m. area acquired within the Shanghai Waigaoquiao Free Trade Zone—a free zone as large as Milan, the biggest in China, which soon will host a 70,000-sq.-m. exhibition center divided into six pavilions.
Here is how Ipack-Ima’s project in the Shanghai Free Zone will work in detail. It provides for several levels of involvement: those who already work on the Chinese market, maybe even with production units, will add the advantages of the Free Trade Zone to their own. Not only will they be provided with a booth in a permanent show room, to promote machinery and products, welcome clients and give demonstrations; they will also have the possibility to transport their machines freely, without any further custom charges, from one exhibition to another inside and outside China.
This adds up to other advantages: for example the exemption from taxes for whoever sells products outside of China. The regulation about trademarks and patents is particularly relevant: to avoid fakes and plagiarism, only registered products are admitted in the area. In order to comply with this Ipack-Ima will offer assistance to companies with forfeit costs on brand deposition and registration directly on the spot, according to the only form of safeguard effective in the country.
There are two ways to take part in this project. The Expo Formula is the more direct: it provides for the acquisition of a shell-scheme exhibiting area (the basic module is 16 sqm and can be increased by 8 sqm modules) with related services for three, six, or 12 months. The package includes assistance and promotional services, use of common offices, and support by the organizing secretariat and by staff specialized in material handling. See ipackima.it.
