Intl. Trade Shows Exhibit at Pack Expo, Present Awards Competition

CHICAGO, IL—Messe Düsseldorf North America will participate in Pack Expo Las Vegas 2007 in order to promote three international trade fairs for the packaging industry: interpack PROCESSES and PACKAGING 2008 (April 24-30); , UPAKOVKA 2008, the Intl. Trade Fair for Machinery and Equipment for the Manufacture of Packaging, Packaging Machinery, Confectionery Machinery, Packaging, Packaging Aids, and Logistics (January 29-February 1); and BASILPCK 2008, the Intl. Exhibition for Packaging (March 10-14). Visitor and exhibitor information will be available at booth S-5216. For the first time, iF Intl. Forum Design will present the "iF packaging award" at interpack PROCESS AND PACKAGING 2008. Designers and developers of packaging, packaging materials, graphics and packaging machinery are invited to submit entries for one or several of the eight different categories, which include various forms of packaging (such as sales and transport packaging, packaging machinery, packaging materials, graphics and construction). The deadline for entry submissions is December 15, 2007. For an entry to be accepted, it cannot be older than three years. In the packaging concepts category, designs that have not yet gone into production or are only available in the form of prototypes can be submitted.

A jury of experts will select five winners based on design quality, ergonomics, choice of materials, and the degree of innovation. Winners will receive the iF label as a quality seal for the award-winning design and outstanding entries also will receive with the iF gold award. The awards ceremony will be held on April 24, 2008, the opening day of interpack. See ifdesign.de.
