ISCST Symposium to Focus on Wet Coatings
- Published: September 03, 2014
LONDON, ON, CANADA | The 17th International Coating Science and Technology Symposium is coming up Sept. 7–10, 2014, at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort in San Diego, CA. The forum, held biennially by the International Society of Coating Science and Technology (ISCST), focuses on innovations in the application of wet coatings.
In a first-time collaboration, the Assn. of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL) is providing management services for the ISCST meeting, allowing ISCST to concentrate on program content while AIMCAL organizes exhibits and handles registration and other meeting details.
The program, organized by co-chairs Prof. Marcio Cavalho of the Pontificia Universidade Catolitica do Rio de Janeiro and Dr. Brent Bell of W.L. Gore & Associates, focuses on new technology from both research and industrial perspectives.
Technical sessions are scheduled in two tracks and focus on six subject areas: Coating Process Fundamentals; Solidification and Microstructure Development; Flow and Solidification of Particulate Coating; Coating Application Processes; Printing and Discrete Coating; and Wetting. The 2014 meeting also features a Plenary Session on Coating for Energy Applications on Monday morning (September 8). An optional short course on Coating Substrates and Substrate Interactions on Sunday, September 7, precedes the opening of the Symposium. Attendees include scientists, engineers, researchers, and converting industry personnel.
