ETI Converting Equipment Patents Die-Cutter

BOUCHERVILLE, QC, CANADA | ETI Converting Equipment has received a patent for its Pellicut equipment, said to die-cut very thin release liners (12–18 microns). 
Company says this high-speed rotary die-cut unit is well suited to self-adhesive label printers, who understand the advantages generated by this technology, said to include the following:
- Avoids die-cutting mark problems on paper and film liners completely
- Reduces material costs
- Results in half the amount of liner waste
- Lowers shipping costs
- Lowers rewinding time since there are more labels per roll
The technology guarantees that the die will not mark the liner during the die- cutting process and that there will be no breaks on labeling machines.
This equipment can die-cut p-s material at a speed of 500 fpm (150 mpm) and uses a standard flexible magnetic die. Reportedly, the W anti-deflection system avoids pressure cutting variations and reduces risks of die-cutting marks on the liner; an equalizer system corrects thickness inconsistency; and the cutting pressure is not sensitive to heat variations in the long run and during continuous usage.

The company says its equipment will be presented at drupa 2016, May 31–June 10, in Düsseldorf, Germany.
