Klöckner Pentaplast Offers New Pharma Solutions

MONTABAUR, GERMANY | Klöckner Pentaplast (kp) will present the latest range of pharmaceutical and medical device packaging solutions and services at ASEAN Pharma Packaging Conference 2017 (APPCON), November 2–3, 2017, in Mumbai, India. The kp team will update visitors on BlisterPro XCEL Services and introduce the newest packaging innovation, Pentapharm LiquiGuard.

 BlisterPro XCEL Services are said to optimize the union of product and packaging. Protective barrier properties of the final package are predicted, reportedly reducing or eliminating the need for expensive and time-consuming line trials. Based at the first kp i.center, located in Charlottesville, VA, the expanded BlisterPro XCEL suite of design services offers a collaborative space specifically configured to help global customers bring products to market more quickly and economically, company says.

With Pentapharm LiquiGuard, hot- and cold-fill liquids and semi-solids can be formed and packaged directly in a crystal-clear, thermostable laminate film that protects sensitive products from package leaching and moisture gain or loss. Frank Oliveri, director of global business development, Pharmaceutical Packaging, says, “Pentapharm LiquiGuard provides an advanced option for unit dose packaging of liquid or semi-solid medications that require resistance to extreme temperatures from hot [120 deg C filling] to cold (–183 deg C] and lyophilized) during processing, while offering all the benefits of a clear, thermoformable blister film with a customizable moisture barrier.”
