Cadbury is using NatureFlex NM from UK-based Innovia Films for its Flake brand milk chocolate in Australasia. The metallized, biodegradable film is suitable for home composting. Keith Chessell, packaging technical specialist of Cadbury Australia, says, “We chose metallized NatureFlex NM to wrap the Cadbury Flake as it offers both technical and environmental benefits for us and fits in perfectly with our ‘Purple Goes Green’ program to extend the use of biodegradable packaging.” Modified coatings are said to ensure excellent metal laydown and adhesion, providing a very high moisture barrier.
